DSE Workstation Assessment with Alexander Technique expert, Tanya Shoop

Ergonomic Assessments

I work in conjunction with colleagues at HITE.  We all have 3 years full time training in the Alexander Technique , as well as DSE Assessor Training, and are expert in assessing and advising people in their workplace.

We will help you and your employees meet the minimum legal guidelines and also advise you on how to optimise your performance and minimise health risks in your workplace.

We have ‘walked the walk’ in making major changes in our own workstation habits and therefore guide you and your employees empathetically through a process of change.

The HITE Standard DSE Workstation Assessment meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 amended by the Health and Safety (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2002. You will benefit from the expertise of a HITE assessor conducting a structured analysis of you and your employees in order to:
  • identify any hazards and assess the risks to health
  • ensure workstations meet requirements
  • advise on breaks & changes in activity
  • provide health & safety training & information
  • advise on eyesight tests and glasses if required for DSE work
  • advise on need for further intervention

Enhanced DSE Workstation Assessments

The HITE Enhanced DSE Assessment ensures that not only are the minimum legal requirements met, but additionally provides:
  • before & after photographs of posture
  • detailed assessment report on habitual tension patterns and postural issues
  • a one to one Alexander Technique session to improve awareness of posture
  • detailed intervention plan
  • a must for all levels of staff to maximise productivity and well being
In both cases we will advise on desks, ergonomic seating, lumbar supports, back rests, screens and positioning, multiple screens in trading and design environments, ergonomic mouse and keyboard use, foot and wrist rests, laptop stands, graphic pads and handheld devices such as the blackberry, iphone and ipad to help prevent RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) and WRULD (Work Related Upper Limb Disorders) and MSD (Musculoskeletal Disorders) in your workplace.
Let HITE work with you proactively to enhance productivity, prevent problems occurring and thereby reduce extended periods of sickness and ill health and in extreme cases tribunal referrals or legal costs.
